Office for Pubic Engagement

Public Engagement Seed Grant: 2005-2006 Awardees

Under the leadership of Associate Vice President Victor Bloomfield, the Office of Public Engagement works to enhance the University of Minnesota’s activities and stature as a publicly engaged research university. The Office provides University-wide leadership to catalyze, facilitate, advocate, coordinate, connect, communicate, and align engaged initiatives across units and with external constituencies.

Engagement is defined as the partnership of university knowledge and resources with those of the public and private sectors to enrich scholarship, research, and creative activity; enhance curriculum, teaching and learning; prepare educated, engaged citizens; strengthen democratic values and civic responsibility; address critical societal issues; and contribute to the public good.
